Reversed: if the querent is a woman, the upright card may refer to the querent herself and indicate not a total failure but a partial success in the area or areas most at heart. If the querent is male, it reveals a weakening of the figure of the woman he loves, because he himself has less intense feelings, or because the sentiments of the woman are less strong, or because she is physically or psychologically distant.
